FYI

"There is no one holy like the Lord, there is none besides you; there is no Rock like our God." 1 Samuel 2:2 Hey guys! I hope y'all had a good week. As you can tell from the title, today's post is different. This is just a notification for the future. I've been pretty busy lately and nobody besides my family reads this so I am going to stop weekly blogging. I will probably end up doing monthly posts so I hope you understand. That's it, sorry for the late notice.

Happy Labor Day!

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23 Happy Labor Day! I hope you all had a great week and are enjoying your three day weekend. We've had a pretty eventful week because we've been working around the house to clean and add more shelves and get rid of stuff etc. I'm not really sure what to blog about but we'll just roll with it. I'm going to make today's post pretty short since it's a holiday. I guess I'll just talk about my plans for today. 8:30-Get up and do my blogging, duolingo, and khan academy 10:00-Eat, hangout with fam 12:00-Lunch which is leftover cold pizza that I'm excited about 3:30-We are going to go see Crazy Rich Asians! I'm super excited! 6:00-Dinner with our grandparents Okay that's it. Sorry it's so short. Have a great holiday and week!

Second Week of School!

"Love is patient and kind; it does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 I hope you all had a good week! I figured today I would pick up where I left off last week by telling y'all more about school, especially since the other subjects started as well. So classes are only Mondays and Wednesdays so I am just going to do a brief overview of last Wednesday and this morning. So without further ado, let's get into it! Last Wednesday: First I had study hall while Elisabeth was in class so that was SUPER boring. It was basically 2 hours of doing the little bit of homework I had (it only took like 15 min max) and waiting. The only subjects I had were math and science so I didn't even have an assigned book to read. Luckily I br...

First Day Of School!

"So do not fear, for I am am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I with uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 I hope you all had a great week! This past week was pretty good, it was a lot of preparation for today, the first day of school. This is my first year of going to somewhere for school in my whole life. I took Pre-Algebra and went to study hall. I was kinda nervous, but pretty excited.  I first went to Pre-Algebra. I met another girl named Abigail (so now I know 4 girls including myself my age who are named Abigail) and we walked in together. The class was set up with the teacher's desk at the front and then three small tables facing her on the right and the left. There were only 9 people and the tables are meant for two people each and the seats were assigned. Sadly, I ended up by myself in the very back on the left lol. But luckily, 8 of the 9 kids are girls, so I have a better chance of mak...

Books

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:10 Hey guys! I hope you all had a great week. This past week I did some back to school shopping, reading, guitar, martial arts, and church stuff. Anyway, my week was pretty good. For today's topic, I'm going to talk about the books I have been reading. I only have a few but this is the only thing I could come up with so oh well.  A Whole New World: A Twisted Tale by Liz Braswell- As you might of guessed, this book is based on Disney's Aladdin except there's a twist to make it more interesting and less cliche. In this book, Aladdin never gets the lamp (don't worry, it's not a spoiler, it's included in the summary of the book). I just read it on Friday and I thought it was pretty good. Reflection: A Twisted Tale by Elizabeth Lim- This one is similar to the Aladdin one but it is based on Disney's Mulan and the twist is that she has to travel to the underworld. This one...

beach!

the sunrise picture my Dad took this morning "From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!" Psalm 113:3 Hey guys! I hope y'all had a great week. I know I did. This past weekend we went to Surfside beach with our fellowship (6 families) and rented 12 bedroom beach house. I really enjoyed getting to know people better even though I've known most of them for almost my whole life. Here's a little bit of a schedule on what we did. Friday afternoon: We dropped Piper off at the pet sitter's house and then road tripped for an hour and a half. Everyone got there around 4 and unpacked. Some kids (including me) went to the beach with a couple of the parents and played for a couple hours before going in for dinner (tacos). We also went over some general house rules and who was on stewardship teams for each meal (a team of adults and kids who clean after each meal). Then we played some card games with whoever wanted to play. A ...

5 things you probably don't know about me

Brothers,  join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk  according to the example you have in us.  For  many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you  even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.   Their end is destruction,  their god is their belly, and  they glory in their shame, with  minds set on earthly things.   But  our citizenship is in heaven, and  from it we  await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,     who will transform  our lowly body  to be like his glorious body,  by the power that enables him even  to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:17-21 Once again, I'm so sorry for not blogging this past week. I was at D-Camp, which is a camp where my church and a bunch of our sister churches have a camp for middle-schoolers and we get to know each other and God more. The Bible verse above was actually the theme for it. Camp was super fun by the...

Dog Tips

"Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Matthew 6:34 Hey guys! I hope all of y'all had a great week. This past week for me was pretty fun. I went to a friend's birthday party sleepover, swam a bunch, and cleaned out my closet. Anyway, as you can tell from the title, today's post is about dog tips. If any of y'all have dogs, I hope you find this post helpful! Tips Be prepared if you get a new dog. Always make sure you have the things your dog will need when you get them. With our dog Piper, we found her at the Poodle Rescue of Houston the day she arrived We asked about the adoption process and the guy there said we can come back the next weekend and we can adopt her then. (she needed to be checked out by the vet) So in that week leading up to the adoption, we got all the supplies we needed! But these were special circumstances. The guy there said we would be the...

The Meaning Behind Abigail and Sugar

"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30 Hey guys! Hope y'all all had a great Independence Day (if you live in America)! This past week I had 2 sleepovers which were both really fun and we got to do fireworks for July 4th! On the other days, everything else was pretty uneventful. As you can tell from the title, today's post is about why my blog is called Abigail and Sugar. If you know know me pretty well or scroll way back in my posts, you'll probably know what the meaning is. But you might not know the entire story. So today I am going to explain that from the very beginning... In the summer of 2010, my family went on vacation to California. One day we went to the San Diego Zoo and got to see lots of animals. When we were about to leave, my parents let my sister and me pick out one souvenir each. Of course, being so young, we went and looked at the stuffed animals. We both chose a polar bear ...

Missions Trip

"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:31-32 Hey guys! By the way, I'm so sorry I didn't blog last week. I was in New Orleans on a short term missions trip with my youth group. We worked with an organization called Kaleo Missions. And that is my topic for today's post. Here's what happened: Sunday: Left church at 11 for a 6 hour road trip with our youth minister and intern and 9 other youth, stopped for lunch at Raising Cane's a third of the way in, stopped for gas two thirds in, and then arrived in New Orleans. Confession time: We were a little late because we stopped for boba at Kung Fu Tea before arriving at the church we were staying at(Kelsey and Caitlyn- if you're reading this, we're sorry!). Then we met the interns there (which were really nice) and had dinner. After t...

Guest Post!!!

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 I know this is not my usual day to post, but my friends from church came over last night and I asked one of them if they want to guest post (under my account). She said yes, so instead of me blogging today it's going to be her! ~~~~~ Hi! I'm Abigail's friend from church, and she's allowing me to write on her blog today! But you already knew that. Abigail's letting me do "freestyle", so here goes. I am ALMOST twelve, and am in the same year as Abigail. My favorite activities and past time include reading, writing, tennis, and playing instruments, and listening/analyzing/composing music. Today, I'll be talking about my lover and companion: the CELLO. The cello, in my opinion, is one of the best instruments to play- especially if you want to audition for orchestra. Why? Here are my reasons: The cel...

Another All About Me (as of June 2018)

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1 First off, I'm so sorry that I didn't blog last week!😪 We were really busy with VBS at our church. Overall, it was super fun, just tiring. It was science themed, so my job was to help little kids with their science experiments which was really fun. Anyway, today's post is going to be yet another all about me because these are just so fun to write. So without further ado, here it is! Favorites: Color: Still black TV Show: The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow Hobbies: Krav maga, baking, Cuddling with Piper Savory snack: Garden Salsa Sun chips are my current obsession  Sweet snack: Probably the Kellogs strawberry gummies or dark chocolate Dessert: Brownies or lava cake topped with vanilla ice cream is just perfection Movie: Wonder Woman and Maleficient  Animal: Dogs and bears (not just polar bears bc pandas are also super cute) Fruit: R...

Birthday!!!

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassion never fails." Lamentations 3:22 First off, my sister just reminded me about blogging, I almost forgot. Oops! This past week has been pretty good, especially because my birthday was Saturday! So I am going to write a description of each day. Tuesday: Elisabeth and I were bored so we made a video on her phone where she gave me spices and I had to guess while smelling them blindfolded! I got almost all of them right! Other than that, not much. Wednesday: We went swimming and I got water on my phone. Yikes! It seemed to be okay but it kept doing this weird buzzing thing so I put it in rice and waited. It turned out okay so I am really thankful. Thursday: Nothing much besides the fact that I got kicked in the butt for my birthday at krav maga, (it's tradition) Friday: This is kinda irrelevant but I was messing around on an app called acceleread and at one point I scrolled through a story on...

Summer!

"For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7 Happy memorial day! Today I'm especially grateful for all of the people who lost their lives serving our country. Hope y'all had a great week. This past week has been pretty uneventful and boring because I finished school and piano for the summer. So far today I've watched Captain America: Civil War with my family, walked Piper, eaten breakfast and lunch, and read. This evening I am going to my parents' friend's house to swim and eat dinner. Today's topic is my summer plans! So I am just going to list them in chronological order and I hope you enjoy! June 2: My birthday! I am going to have some friends from church over for a sleepover! (not Karis or Abby though) June 11-15: Volunteering at our church's VBS (the theme is science) June 24-29: Going on my first mission trip to New Orleans! I'm kinda nervous but super ex...

Piper's all about me

"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Matthew 5:44 Happy Monday y'all! I hope you had a great week! This past week for me was pretty uneventful except on Saturday we went to a trampoline place for James' friend's birthday part which was awesome (it even had a ropes course, rock climbing, and a zipline!). Anyway, today I'm going to tell y'all a little more about Piper since I haven't blogged much about her. The way I'm going to do this is an about her post, so enjoy! Piper and her favorite toy (a Pluto tsum tsum) Full name: Piper Luna Ma Breed: Miniature Poodle mix Weight: About 11-12 pounds Fur color: Black Eye color: Brown Age: 2 (14 in dog years) Favorite human: My mom Favorite food: Peanut butter or popcorn Favorite toy: Pluto tsum tsum Things she likes to do: Walkies (walks), napping, barking at the lawn mowers on Saturday mornings, begging for human food, exploring the backyard, going to the ...

Happy Monday:)

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not human masters..." Colossians 3:23 Hey guys! Originally, I was going to start doing my weekly posts on Wednesday, but I was really bored today so it's going to be Monday. Not much has been happening lately, so today I'm gonna tell y'all what I do with all my free time. These are also things to do when you're bored. (btw, these are not in order of how much time I spend doing them) 1) Read It's not my favorite thing to do, but if you have a good book it will help the day pass a lot faster than it would without. 2) Walk Piper Walking is a great way to use all of your muscles and be productive! The only thing is it's getting hotter here in Houston so my walks have been at 6:45 AM which are still warm and humid🙄 3) Watch TV/ Go on my phone I know it's not very good for your brain, but it can pass the time. I recommend watching The Flash and DC's Legen...

May is Prader-Willi awareness month!

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16  Hey guys! Sorry that I am so inconsistent with posting I just forget and am too lazy. 😅 Anyways, May is Prader-Willi awareness month and that is what my brother James has so I am going to tell y'all a little bit about it.    PWS is a rare genetic disorder affecting about 1 in 15,000 people. It affects all genders and races equally. It mainly affects the part of the brain that tells you when you’re full resulting in feeling like you’re always hungry. Other symptoms include anxiety, behavioral challenges, cognitive limitations, orthopedic issues such as scoliosis, slow metabolism, sleep-wake cycles, skin picking, speech and language problems, strength/balance/coordination problems, and more. There is no current cure for it, and those with PWS are unable to live independently. Yeah so that's just a little about it... comment if ...

Long time no post

"Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 NIV Hey, guys! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I'm really inconsistent. Today I'm going to try something new and write a description of anything major for each month since I've posted. (by the way, when I say 'we' in a sentence, it usually means Elisabeth and me, or our whole family) November-We hosted a sleepover and went to a board painting place for Elisabeth's birthday. For Thanksgiving we had our grandparents come over for lunch and cooked a big Thanksgiving meal from scratch. And then, on Black Friday we went shopping with our mom at the mall. December-My friend Karis and I got baptized!!! We also volunteered at a fundraiser for an organization called Free the Captives which helps fight huma...
