"From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!" Psalm 113:3

Hey guys! I hope y'all had a great week. I know I did. This past weekend we went to Surfside beach with our fellowship (6 families) and rented 12 bedroom beach house. I really enjoyed getting to know people better even though I've known most of them for almost my whole life. Here's a little bit of a schedule on what we did.

Friday afternoon: We dropped Piper off at the pet sitter's house and then road tripped for an hour and a half. Everyone got there around 4 and unpacked. Some kids (including me) went to the beach with a couple of the parents and played for a couple hours before going in for dinner (tacos). We also went over some general house rules and who was on stewardship teams for each meal (a team of adults and kids who clean after each meal). Then we played some card games with whoever wanted to play. A new game that we played (I've played before but most of the people playing haven't) was called Werewolves which is like a more complicated Mafia. Dad sucks at lying, so we all knew when he was werewolf because he would start wheezing/laughing and turning red and it was hilarious. Anyway, that was really fun.

Saturday: Saturday was a full-blown beach day! We got up and ate a DIY breakfast, then went straight to the beach. We spent most of that morning in the water before heading in for lunch (pizza and pasta). After that, my friends and I went back to the beach a little after lunch while most people stayed inside for a couple hours and relaxed (especially because it was sunny). The rest of the people came back to the beach in the late afternoon but everyone went back inside before dinner. After dinner (curry), we did s'mores outside using the fire pit. Then the adults had an adult talk or something like that, and my friends and I played even more cards. We each brought some pennies for game tokens or whatever and bet with them for card games. When the adults were done, we played some werewolves and went to bed.

Sunday: On Sunday instead of going to the beach straight after breakfast, we had a mini worship service where my friend's dad played guitar and her mom sang and my Dad led a short devotion. Then we went to the beach. For lunch we had baked potatoes that my mom made, and then stayed in for a little bit to cool off and play even more cards. We ended up going to the beach again, but only for a couple hours or so. Afterwards we had dinner (bbq pulled chicken sliders with mac and cheese) which was super good and the adults had sharing time while the kids hung out. Then we sang some karaoke which was really fun. I sang Oceans by Hillsong United with James and A Thousand years by Christina Perri with my friends. My friend's 3 year old sister sang Let It Go which was super cute. Then the adults sang some couple songs. But then, an old song that they all new came up on YouTube. This launched a solid hour of the adults doing karaoke of these old songs from their time that I didn't know and I got kinda bored tbh. After karaoke we went to bed.

Monday morning: We all packed up and took the sheets of the beds. We also vacuumed and loaded up the car. Then everyone said their goodbyes and we locked up the beach house. I slept most of the way home. Then we picked up Piper from the pet sitter (we missed her a lot). After that we went home, unpacked, and took long naps.

One last thing that I wanted to remember about this trip is what my friend's dad said. They had a dog named Ladybird who unfortunately passed away last summer (peacefully, from old age). He was telling me about how Elisabeth and I were really scared of dogs when we were little until we went on a camping trip with them and they took Ladybird. There, we fell in love with her and dogs in general. So, if it wasn't for Ladybird we probably wouldn't have Piper. You were underrated, Ladybird. Rest in peace.

On a lighter note, that's all I got for y'all today. Make sure you enjoy these last few weeks before school starts! Come back next Monday for more!

5 things you probably don't know about me

Brothers,  join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk  according to the example you have in us.  For  many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you  even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.   Their end is destruction,  their god is their belly, and  they glory in their shame, with  minds set on earthly things.   But  our citizenship is in heaven, and  from it we  await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,     who will transform  our lowly body  to be like his glorious body,  by the power that enables him even  to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:17-21 Once again, I'm so sorry for not blogging this past week. I was at D-Camp, which is a camp where my church and a bunch of our sister churches have a camp for middle-schoolers and we get to know each other and God more. The Bible verse above was actually the theme for it. Camp was super fun by the...

So, my friend mom Mrs. Stacia, has a lot if gum. She keeps it in a bag called the gum bag; (which led to her nickname) and these are the flavor in it. 1. Grapefruit melon 2. Mentos-tropical 3.
