Happy Monday:)

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not human masters..." Colossians 3:23

Hey guys! Originally, I was going to start doing my weekly posts on Wednesday, but I was really bored today so it's going to be Monday. Not much has been happening lately, so today I'm gonna tell y'all what I do with all my free time. These are also things to do when you're bored. (btw, these are not in order of how much time I spend doing them)

1) Read
It's not my favorite thing to do, but if you have a good book it will help the day pass a lot faster than it would without.

2) Walk Piper
Walking is a great way to use all of your muscles and be productive! The only thing is it's getting hotter here in Houston so my walks have been at 6:45 AM which are still warm and humid🙄

3) Watch TV/ Go on my phone
I know it's not very good for your brain, but it can pass the time. I recommend watching The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow on the CW. I probably spend too much time on screens, but without them you couldn't be reading this post...

4) Krav Maga
Krav Maga is a type of self defense and my class is at the same place James does his taekwondo. That way, no arguments/comparing and Mom doesn't have to drive as much. I also would rather do KM than TKD.

5) Serve at church
This is a fun way you can glorify God and get to know the other youth more! We usually help with announcements, planning a group game, or drawing an outline for people to take notes on. Elisabeth and I are on the servant and inspire team in our youth group. (inspire is Friday night church) We are also going to help in a VBS and go on a missions trip to New Orleans this summer.

6) Piano
We have been taking lessons for several years with a teacher that comes to our house. For a while I wanted to quit but I have been enjoying it lately because we switched it up a bit. I really like our teacher because he let me change from boring read the music and play it exactly to jazz. I use The Real Book which is a book with the melody and chords mess around with some of the songs. I especially like our teacher because he encourages me to add "Abigail" to the song and not just follow the book.

7) Bake
I love love love to bake. I bake almost every Saturday for church the next day. I usually bring it to d-group (a one gender one grade class with a leader and 3-5 youth to not just learn about the Bible but to go deeper into it) and then if I have extras hand them out to whoever. That way I can bake but not worry about a ton of leftovers at home.

That's all I can think of for now, thanks for reading! I hope y'all have a great week💕

  1. Hey Abigail,

Glad that you seem to be doing well. I can definitely agree with you on some of those.

    1) I love reading and I read constantly so if you have any good books to recommend then do let me know.

    2) I don't have a dog but I guess I walk around a lot. It's hard to get around if you don't walk. At the moment it is the perfect temperature, around 20 degrees so we're all out in shorts and t-shirts. How you survive in that heat I have no idea.
    3) Our family has been really stuck into Jeeves and Wooster, although the humour is very British so it might not be "y'all's" thing. We also recently watched the new Wonder film, which was pretty well done although we all still prefer the book. I, personally, am not into superhero movies much but I sure love some action.

    4) I wish I was more active but for now I'm just doing PE at school which is Tennis, Softball and maybe rounders during lunch. You just can't beat a good game of rounders.

    5) At Church at the moment, a lot of the youth 15-18 are planning for our trip to South Africa this summer, so that is exciting but I guess a bit nerve-racking as well. I'm going to learn how to do AV (which is the screen and sound system) to help out bit more during the morning service many of us have stopped Emmanuel Flyers (Sunday school) which only goes up to age 14 but we all go to youth group (TYPE and 180) on Fridays.

    6) I still bash around on the piano, but I have stopped lessons for this term as I have GCSEs which are national exams that qualify for A Level, which qualifies for a degree which qualifies for a job. I'm a little stressed at the moment, but I'm writing this during my break.

    7) I love baking but I'm more a savoury kind of girl. This summer, I have a plan to learn some more recipes and do more baking so that I can bring more cake to youth group, as long as there is enough left over after our family have eaten some/most/all!

Have a good week too. Hope you guys stay well and don't overheat, although I don't know how you stand it, even with the air con?! How about popping over to England for some decent weather?

    1. Thanks for commenting! As for the weather here, I'm used to it. We've actually been swimming in our neighbors pool a lot lately. We wish y'all were here to swim with us! With church, there actually are three types of teams which are AV, Music, and admin (which Elisabeth and I are on). Good luck with that and school as your school year is ending soon pretty soon. We miss y'all so much and hope you can visit soon!

5 things you probably don't know about me

Brothers,  join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk  according to the example you have in us.  For  many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you  even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.   Their end is destruction,  their god is their belly, and  they glory in their shame, with  minds set on earthly things.   But  our citizenship is in heaven, and  from it we  await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,     who will transform  our lowly body  to be like his glorious body,  by the power that enables him even  to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:17-21 Once again, I'm so sorry for not blogging this past week. I was at D-Camp, which is a camp where my church and a bunch of our sister churches have a camp for middle-schoolers and we get to know each other and God more. The Bible verse above was actually the theme for it. Camp was super fun by the...

The Gum Lady

So, my friend mom Mrs. Stacia, has a lot if gum. She keeps it in a bag called the gum bag; (which led to her nickname) and these are the flavor in it. 1. Grapefruit melon 2. Mentos-tropical 3. Juicy fruit starburst cherry 4. Trident layers-Swedish fish 5. Trident layers-Cherry lime 6. Juicy fruit grape 7. Sour patch watermelon Well, you get the point, she pretty much has or had any gum invented. Here's a word from The Gum Lady: Gum is my favorite!  I love when the gym kiddos come to me for gum.  We need to have a bubble blowing contest! Thank you for joining me, Mrs. Stacia!
