Hi again! Right now we are going to learn about sharks.
Great White Shark
- The great white is among the best-known of all sharks
- Belonging to the mackerel shark group, great whites are fast, fierce hunters.
- A typical great white is about 13-16 feet long,-slightly bigger than a car.
- The biggest great whites on record are over 20 feet long
- Great whites are often found in medium warm waters such as those around Japan and Australia
- Although they sometimes attack humans great whites much prefer to eat fish, seals, and sea lions.
- Great whites are not white all over.They are dark gray on top, with a pale gray or creamy white underside.
- When swimming great whites will often poke their head out of the water or leap high into the air.
- It is difficult to keep a great whit in captivity. If they are put into an aquarium they will only survive for a few days.
