Hello everybody! I'm sorry I haven't written.Today we went to gymnastics from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Then we went to a pool party from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm though me and Elisabeth got there 45 minutes late. The bathrooms there are flooded about half an inch deep and there were dead leaves everywhere. Disgusting!
Then we took showers and James and Daddy went to go get haircuts. Now I'm sitting at Mommy's desk
working on my blog. At the pool party Elisabeth did not go swimming because she did not want to risk changing in the bathroom. At gymnastics today we had really hard conditioning [ the way we get stronger].
It was leg conditioning. Now we are going to learn about Killdeer [a kind of bird].
Killdeer
Nesting place: Ground
Nest type: Scrape
Favorite food: Insects
Colors
Back & head:Brown
Forehead, chin & collar: White
Eye ring:Orange
Underparts: White
Legs: Pale
The Killdeer calls out its own name and,as with many other birds, that is how it got its common name to
begin with. Like many other ground-nesting birds, the young are precocial meaning that when they hatch
they are fully feathered. Precocial young leave the nest very soon after hatching and do not return.

I learned so much about killdeer today! Thanks, Abigail. :)

I would have made the same decision as Elisabeth... I don't like to take risks when it comes to dirty bathrooms! I have a question about Killdeer: What does scrape mean when you say they use that kind of nest?

A scrape is a kind of nest but I don't know what it looks like.
